FCSII Harley Ingleby Longboard Tri-Quad (5) Fin Set | Suits Longboards, Mid Length and Hybrids

World Longboard Champion Harley Ingleby's Signature Athlete Fin. Performance boards with deep concaves and moderate-to-extreme rocker. This Set is ideal for performance longboards, surf SUP's, Hybrids and Mid-Lengths.  All Fins are FCSII click in fins.

IN THE PACK

5 x FCSII Fins - Ride with multiple combinations as thruster, or a quad, or combine fins with your existing single/centre fin on your longboard setup.

This is Harley's preferred fin set that's spec'd to work on longer boards and encourages a more progressive style of mid-length surfing. HI also rides this set on in other hybrid shapes. The HI Mid set can be applied to any mid-length with a Tri-Quad setup.

The set comprises the Reactor Large thruster template and the Performer Large quad rear fins. As a thruster this pivotal set encourages tighter radius turns on these longer boards due to the upright nature of the fins. As a quad set, it will feel fast, smooth and predictable while encouraging a more drawn-out term. Both configurations are designed to offer a feeling of control, with the freedom to surf radically on a mid-length.

Harley's Mid Tri-Quad set has been constructed in our PC AirCore technology, which is stiff enough to handle the extra torque of these longer boards while offering a fast and responsive feel through turns.

HARLEY INGLEBY

Born in Coffs Harbour in 1983, Harley Ingleby started surfing as soon as he could walk. His surf-mad father Mark encouraged Harley from the beginning, and also happened to have one of Australia’s more interesting surfboard collections, a collection that wasn’t just for looking at. Harley was encouraged to try all kinds of weird and wonderful surf-craft, and by the time he reached his teens, he could ride anything from a 5-foot fish to a 10-foot log.

Harley soon began competing in shortboard and longboard junior events and was a star performer in both. After a string of successes, he was urged to consider the emerging pro junior tour, but something made Harley decide to pursue a different path. As he told Australia’s “Surfing Life Magazine,” Harley quickly outgrew all the egos and super-competitive kids at the shortboard events, and eventually gravitated more toward the longboard events, where he was having a lot more fun.

Once he decided to focus on longboarding, Ingleby’s progression began to accelerate. By 2005 he was one of a small group of surfers dominating Australian longboarding. Like Josh Constable, Ingleby managed to incorporate elements of his shortboard surfing into his longboard repertoire, with extraordinary results. He explains that shortboarding opened his mind as to what was possible, while longboarding improved his overall strength and technique. Ingleby won the Australian longboard titles in 2005 and 2007, all the while edging closer to a world title.

In 2009, the world title was decided over two events. Harley won the first in Japan, then clinched the title in the Maldives when he finished second. In 2014, he claimed his second WSL World Longboard Championship title with a win at the GoPro World Longboard Championships in Hainan, China, and a second-place finish at the Australian Longboard Surfing Open.
