From ankle high to overhead, this board has been tuned so you can paddle onto waves early, set your line and go. Once up and riding there’s enough performance in this shape to slice a long carve, drive effortlessly through a roundhouse cutback and pivot smoothly off the top.

Featuring classic curves from the 70’s, combined with a contemporary array of concaves on the bottom, that offers a smooth yet highly responsive feel for a board of this length.

Construction
Built in NSP’s CSE construction with a stringered SecureCell foam core, the Volume Mid delivers a responsive yet durable ride, ensuring long-lasting performance without sacrificing the lively feel that keeps you coming back for more.

The Volume Midlength offers exceptional trim speed over flatter sections and the ability to duck and weave through steeper parts of the wave, this is the perfect board for dedicated surfers wanting to maintain their status in the line-up, and the older crew needing to keep up with the kids. Experienced intermediate surfers and above will get the most out of this model (not recommended for beginners or novice surfers)

Built with NSP’s CSE (Custom Surf Epoxy) construction, Richie’s Volume Midlength CSE combines durability and lightweight performance, with the exact layup depending on the board’s length:
6’6” - Deck - 4oz + Biax 220g. Bottom - 4oz
6’8” – 7’2” Deck 6oz + Biax 220g. Bottom - 4oz
The Volume CSE range is built with NSP’s Custom Surf Epoxy (CSE) lay-up, featuring a CNC-cut 36g EPS core and a 3.6mm wood stringer. Laminated with full Biaxial fibreglass (220g), it incorporates a 4oz deck on the shorter versions and a 6oz deck on all boards above 6’8″ and a 4oz fin patch. Finished with a clear UV-stable resin and a satin rub, this construction delivers a durable craft with excellent flex, responsiveness, and a lightweight feel. The epoxy resin, advanced custom layup and EPS core offer a responsive flex pattern. This enhances your connection to the wave without compromising response or feel. And the Volume Midlength is not just for 1-ft, knee-high days — it’s been brought into the NSP Shapers Union lineup, ready to charge your sessions when the surf gets serious.

Richie Lovett is a former pro surfer turned surfboard designer and shaper, combining his decades of experience to create surfboards that perform at every level. After a successful 10 years on the elite World Championship Tour, he developed a deep
understanding of how and why surfboards work, refining his knowledge alongside some of the best in the industry. In 2005, a cancer diagnosis and radical hip surgery forced him to relearn how to surf, giving him a new perspective on board design. This journey pushed him to explore all types of shapes, and core focus on making surfing easier, more fun, and highly satisfying for everyday surfers, which ultimately leading Richie to launch Volume Shapes.
