The Volume Hybrid-X is the third iteration of the Hybrid series with a focus on better paddle efficiency, start-up speed, and stability up front. With the wide point and thickness pushed forward to maximize foam distribution under the chest and towards the rails, this the best paddler of the Hybrid series.

NSP Volume Hybrid-X CSE Design
The design goal with the Hybrid-X was to create a board that paddled into waves really easy, then once up and riding, the back half of the board performs like a high performance shortboard. The tail measurement on this model is narrower compared to the Hybrid and Hybrid+, so when your back foot is planted over the fins, it will respond and turn on demand and also hold-in nicely when the waves are steeper and more powerful.

The entry rocker has been relaxed to allow for quicker start-up acceleration and speed from the take-off. This design tweak is also a bonus when the waves are flatter, and you have to work the board for speed. Lastly, the concaves have been softened to enhance the feelings of predictability and flow when transitioning from rail-to-rail.

Construction
Built in NSP’s CSE construction with a stringered SecureCell foam core, which compliments the Volume Hybrid X perfectly to deliver a responsive, high-performance hybrid that suits all wave types offering the light tightly durability to match.

Who Richie created the NSP Volume Hybrid-X for:
Fast with lots of flow, the Hybrid X targets the intermediate-to-experienced surfer, wanting a super reliable, performance-based allrounder for small-to-medium size waves. This model is also valid as a travel companion for shredders not wanting to compromise on a performance approach to wave riding.

Built with NSP’s CSE (Custom Surf Epoxy) construction, Richie’s Volume Fish CSE combines durability and lightweight performance, with the exact layup depending on the board’s length:
5'10-6’6” - Deck - 4oz + Biax 220g. Bottom - 4oz
The Volume CSE range is built with NSP’s Custom Surf Epoxy (CSE) lay-up, featuring a CNC-cut 36g EPS core and a 3.6mm wood stringer. Laminated with full Biaxial fibreglass (220g), it incorporates a 4oz deck on the shorter versions. Finished with a clear UV-stable resin and a satin rub, this construction delivers a durable craft with excellent flex, responsiveness, and a lightweight feel. The epoxy resin, advanced custom layup and EPS core offer a responsive flex pattern. This enhances your connection to the wave without compromising response or feel. 

RICHIE LOVETT - SURFER /
SHAPER / DESIGNER

Richie Lovett is a former pro surfer turned surfboard designer and shaper, combining his decades of experience to create surfboards that perform at every level. After a successful 10 years on the elite World Championship Tour, he developed a deep
understanding of how and why surfboards work, refining his knowledge alongside some of the best in the industry. In 2005, a cancer diagnosis and radical hip surgery forced him to relearn how to surf, giving him a new perspective on board design. This journey pushed him to explore all types of shapes, and core focus on making surfing easier, more fun, and highly satisfying for everyday surfers, which ultimately leading Richie to launch Volume Shapes.
